‘Lockheed in Sunnyvale’ exhibit highlights how company changed the city

Mega-size Lockheed exhibitThe archivists at the Sunnyvale Heritage Park Museum have been digging deep into the Lockheed archives to put together a new display. Opening June 25, “Lockheed in Sunnyvale, 1956 to 2023” will highlight how the company’s arrival changed the city and the surrounding Santa Clara Valley.While the museum still boasts a permanent Lockheed exhibit, the new temporary exhibit will feature items acquired more recently as well as other materials that have never been on public view. According to museum director Laura Babcock, the exhibit will also provide an overview of the various divisions within Lockheed and the work accomplished there through the years.Sunnyvale Historical Society will be hosting receptions Sunday, June 25, and Thursday, June 29, 12:30-3:30 p.m. both days, when even more Lockheed memorabilia will be displayed. Westmont High School graduating senior Maddon Hoh-Choi, 17, has been named a 2023 Silver Nautilus Book Award winner for a book he wrote with his mother, Tina Choi, to teach children about Chinese-American businessman Andrew Yang, who ran for president in 2020.“Fighting for Change,” which was honored in the category for middle grade nonfiction (ages 8-12; grades 4-7), teaches the basics of Universal Basic Income (UBI) and how it addresses issues including unemployment, poverty and homelessness. It also describes the childhood trials and triumphs of Yang, a child of immigrant parents, who grew up in a small New York town.Maddon, who will attend UC Berkeley this fall, has always been interested in politics and history. Three injured in shooting by nightclub in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) – Three adults were shot Saturday night near a nightclub in the city’s Ingleside neighborhood.At 11:54 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 300 block of Ocean Avenue, which is where a nightclub is located at. After arriving to the scene, the officers located two males and one female suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds, said the San Francisco Police Department. 9 people shot in SF Mission District Friday night All victims were transported to a local hospital. (KRON) – Three people were injured following a vehicle collision at a cruise show in the city’s downtown area Saturday evening. At 5:50 p.m., Santa Rosa fire responded to a collision at the Peggy Sue Cruise Show in the area of 5th Street and East Street.
