One-alarm fire sparks along Embarcadero at Pier 28 (KRON) -- A 1-alarm fire broke out on the Embarcadero near Pier 28 early Tuesday morning, according to the San Francisco Fire Department. Palo Alto man robbed in his own backyard Fire crews responded by land and by sea around 3:14 a.m. SFFD's Fire Boat 3 was caught on video as it doused the dock in water. According to the study conducted by University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) researchers and the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH), the city implemented "one of the most intensive, inclusive and multi-pronged" COVID responses in the U.S., leading to one of the lowest fatality rates among U.S. cities across all ages and ethnicities. "Swift action informed by experience and data in San Francisco was critical to success," according to the study, which was published in the academic journal Public Health Reports. (AP) — Former Georgia outside linebacker Adam Anderson is still hoping to have an opportunity for an NFL career after he was sentenced to one year in jail for the sexual assaults of two women in 2020 and 2021.An Athens-Clarke County Superior Court judge sentenced Anderson on Monday to two one-year terms to be served concurrently. Anderson was ordered to surrender to authorities by Saturday.Anderson, 23, originally faced felony charges, but they were reduced to misdemeanor sexual battery in a plea negotiation. Eastbound I-70, Loveland Pass closed after crash DENVER (KDVR) — Eastbound Interstate 70 was closed in the high country Tuesday because of a crash, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.The affected stretch was from Exit 203 (Silverthorne) to Exit 218 (8 miles west of Silver Plume), or Mile Points 205-217.5.U.S. 6 (Loveland Pass) was also closed. Rocky Mountain goat kid unexpectedly dies at Denver Zoo DENVER (KDVR) — The Denver Zoo is mourning the unexpected loss of Salix, a Rocky Mountain goat kid.Salix died on Saturday, July 22, just a few days shy of turning 2 months old. He was born on May 30 to first-time parents Elbert and Magnolia.The Denver Zoo said animal care specialists noticed the kid behaving abnormally on Friday. Salix was chewing repetitively and was lethargic. After assessing Salix, he immediately started a supportive treatment while the team at the zoo waited for test results to determine what was wrong. Salix passed the next morning.
